She died on January 30, 2024 at Allure of Mt. Carroll. Carol was born September 25, 1934 in Coleta to Clinton and Mary (Hackbarth) Sarber. She married Nelva "Dutch" Smith on May 23, 1954 in Milledgeville. She was a member of Dutchtown Church of the Brethren in Milledgeville. She is survived by four children, Laura (John) Folkers of Sterling, Amanda (Larry) Siperly of Milledgeville, Perri Ann (Tom) Plog of Milledgeville, and Ellen (Jerry Lancaster) McDaniel of Chadwick; eight grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren plus one on the way; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one brother, Paul Sarber; one sister, Bernice Smith; one grandson, Paul Grant; and one granddaughter, Christa Siperly.
